More than 950 TELUS team members, alumni, family and friends volunteered over 2900 hours in the AB North Central (Edmonton) region. As a result:
- 643 trees and shrubs were planted for the City of Edmonton
- 5,000 toys were cleaned for CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health
- An evening meal was prepared for the 6 families (23 people) staying at the Ronald McDonald House

I found this experience to be very rewarding. My heart went out to all the animals…to know that for one day I, as well as the other members of the TELUS team helped make a difference was wonderful. I left well educated about the shelter. I will share what I learned today with my friends and family. It was all I could do to not take every animal home with me! (Humane Society of Edmonton)

I enjoyed the time spent, working along side of my fellow team members and guests. Volunteering gives me a great sense of giving back to the community. I would definitely volunteer for Kids Kottage again! (Kids Kottage)

It was my first time as a volunteer team lead -- and it was a great experience! The Ronald McDonald House is a great charity. We were given a tour of the facility it was great to know that families have a place like this to go to. The feedback from the famiies from BC and Europe was so nice to see. I'm glad to have been part of this TELUS Day of Service. The experience is an opportunity to see how fortunate we are with our own kids health -- and how fortunate we are to be here in Edmonton where we have such a great health system for children. (Ronald McDonald House)

This was a very good experience to be able to contribute to the Humane Society and the animals that are here. The animals really seemed to enjoy it which made me enjoy it that much more. (Humane Society of Edmonton)

A lot of fun! My entire family was able to volunteer. We live in St. Albert and we were truly able to give where we live.
Geoff de Bruijn, St. Albert Children's Festival
The TELUS dinner was very well received - all five families currently staying at the house were able to attend, and enjoyed the dinner tremendously. The volunteers from TELUS were easily identifiable in their T-shirts, and were friendly and courteous. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers who donated food, their cooking talents and time to all of us here at Ronald McDonald House.
Joan Hayes, House Manager, Ronald McDonald House
Hi Wayne and TELUS Team! I want to say a big thank you for all the wonderful work you did here on Saturday morning! There were so many complimentary remarks on the yard and when Chuni rhymed off the list of everything you all accomplished, it was amazing! I don’t think we’ve ever had a group complete so much in one morning. The event was very worthwhile to us. What worked was how organized and cooperative you were. Chuni commented on how hard you all worked and how much effort you put into the projects, which is very appreciated.
Dana Myers, Volunteer Opportunity Coordinator, YESS (Youth Emergency Shelter)
