Over 160 TELUS team members, alumni, family and friends volunteered over 430 hours in the Barrie region. As a result:
- sorted over 1,500 ceramic tiles, bundled over 1,200 slates of laminate flooring, sorted over 600 rolls of wallpaper and organized over 500 cabinet doors for Habitat for Humanity
- completed 1000 donation receipts for the Heart and Stroke Foundation
- planted, mowed, trimmed and weeded plants, bushes and lawns for Youth Haven

Volunteering at Youth Haven with my son, my sister, my niece and her friend was a golden opportunity for our teens to help other teens. The time went by so fast, it really didn't seem like work at all, we were laughing and joking the whole time and before we knew it the place was clean! I didn't even get any grief from my son who is allergic to housework normally, he pitched right in and did a great job. A great experience for everyone, we'll be back again next year! (Youth Haven)

Our 19 spirited volunteers energetically cleaned Youth Haven from top to bottom! We felt great about making this a "green" activity by using cleansers that are safe for the environment. and adding new plants to the garden. Some of Youth Haven's residents popped by and couldn't believe how much cleaner it looked. By the end of the day the shelter looked great and everyone felt great getting the opportunity to give where they live! (Youth Haven)

My daughter Amanda said she really enjoyed helping people. Said it just made her feel good, all warm and fuzzy! She wants to do it again. She also wants to come back with me to Youth Haven this weekend when I go to plant some more perennials, which I think is awesome! (Youth Haven)

Thank you for the generous donation! We also really appreciate when TELUS employees clean the shelter. It really means a lot to us. When the house is clean, we don't have to worry about tidying up and we can focus our time and energy on other tasks. The people who stay at the shelter also appreciate it. It's so nice for them to come back to a home that is clean. It also helps them feel that the community cares about them. The people from TELUS get so much done when they come here! You all have so much energy!

TELUS helps us by helping us organize the store. As can appreciate it gets messy at times, but so to have TELUS come in with as many volunteers as they do, upwards to 30 to 40 of them, is a tramedous help.
